As you can see it ran very well and for about 15 minutes on a full tank of meths. Tim is now recovering in the local hospital after being run over at the end of filming.

Now look 'ere Mr Guessoo, don't think we don't know who you are.It is the accent that gives it away... :-) There is plenty of room for some R/C but it is more fun to let it do its own thing!

apologies. have now seen the video of steam wagon circling at crossness,, scale speed probably accurate.. i was going by the experience of running a mamod traction engine, which required gearing down . fitted an extra pulley into the drive train..

ReplyDeleteYes it does run at a very realistic speed, mainly due to gearing and the weight of the model. I have just built a second Steam Wagon. This time built from the contents of our 1929/30 number 6 set that is featured elsewhere on our blog. I will post pictures in the next few days as the blog needs some updating after a few months of inactivity...
